What is the Montessori method?

Montessori is a teaching method based on the child's developmental needs for freedom within limits. A carefully prepared environment provides materials and experience through which to develop intelligence as well as physical and psychological abilities. The Montessori method is designed to take full advantage of the self-motivation and unique ability of young children to develop their own capabilities.


Our Promise...

Mary Pop-Ins offers professional childcare morning times only. We offer breakfast, rest, outdoor play, social play, stories and lots of fun.

The Children are introduced to playing and working in groups of various sizes, and are helped to develop a strong sense of self-esteem. We encourage them to help one another and to listen to each other, and there are times when toddlers to rising 4 year olds all play and work together. The adults in the environment are also expected to model positive relationships to the children. We follow the British Curriculum.

Early Literacy skills

As part of the Mary Pop-Ins curriculum we have introduce Letterland. This is a wonderful method for teaching children English vocabulary skills and to learn how to read and write. To find out more about this invaluable product..


Library-time

Our children are encouraged to look at pictures and listen to the daily story - we are aware of the important of literacy skills from a young age.  To find out more click on www.wiseeye.co.za  

Play Time

Play is a vital part of our childrens development. Mary Pop-Ins Montessori nursery has beauitful safe indoor and outdoor areas with constant supervision. To find out more about Montessori method click on www.montessori.com

 

Art-time

Children love to express themselves through drawing and painting. We introduce the children to a wide range of art materials and they go home with their artwork to decorate their parents' homes and offices.

Puzzle-time

We have many educational puzzles for them to develop their small motor skills, English vocabulary and imagination.
